He would like to have orders held automatically in order to prevent dispatchers from ticketing trucks that might not be needed, as well as to not hold up trucks. It was his understanding that Dispatch would create a schedule(which it does currently) but also automatically hold orders after the first load to prevent trucks from waiting for held orders and ultimately impacting company efficiency in regards to delivery. We discussed using the Custom Spacing feature as a work around to Hold orders depending on the load, but this is a manual process and another step to take, which doesn’t really help prevent human error if a dispatcher forgets this step. There is functionality built into Command Batch that does automatically Hold orders, that he would like applied into Dispatch.
He does not want to use that option, as it is a manual process. They'd have to set the order to Hold, and then go back and Open it up, and hold it again.
What he wants is the ability to say 20 loads are go, and the remaining loads go to Hold. And he wants this do be set when the order is created, without having to manually change the statuses of the order. When the specified number of loads are reached, the order should go on hold automatically.
Hi Jamal,
Is setting the default order status to 'Hold' an option?
Thanks,
